Our mission is to empower individuals with lifesaving skills, equipping them to respond confidently in critical moments. We believe early, high-quality CPR is essential to improving survival rates during emergencies. Our team includes experienced instructors, some of whom are local Firefighter/EMTs, bringing firsthand knowledge of real-world emergency response. As dedicated members of the community, we are committed to providing high-quality training that makes a difference..

Through our courses, we provide comprehensive instruction in Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, AED usage, and First Aid. By learning from those who routinely face these emergencies firsthand, you can gain invaluable insights and practical knowledge to effectively intervene when it matters most. Trust in our expertise to equip you with the skills and confidence necessary to act decisively during life-threatening situations.

Our instructors employ state-of-the-art equipment that adheres to the latest American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Rigorous sanitation protocols are meticulously followed, with all equipment thoroughly sanitized after each class to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Thomas Creel

Owner & Lead Instructor

Since August 2021
I am genuinely thrilled about the opportunity to impart life-saving skills and facilitate learning in others. The inception of Smooth Bore CPR & First Aid in 2021, alongside a close friend and fellow firefighter, signifies a shared commitment to spreading our wealth of experiences and knowledge with the community.
My professional journey has been varied, predominantly within sales and management roles until 2020. However, I found these paths lacking in personal fulfillment. It wasn't until 2019 when I decided to pursue my passion for emergency medical services and obtained my EMT certification. Transitioning into the role of a Firefighter/EMT at a Volunteer department in January 2020 marked a significant turning point in my career trajectory. Since then, securing a full-time position as a Captain Firefighter/EMT in the Mesa County community that I hold dear has been incredibly rewarding.
As an instructor, I am eager to further serve my community. My goal is to assist you in achieving your certification aspirations and ensure you are confident and ready to act in the time of need. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and embark on this educational journey together.

Having served with distinction at the University of Arizona (UofA), the University of Denver (DU), and Colorado Mesa University (CMU), Heidi's journey in academia has been marked by a commitment to excellence and innovation.
As a versatile professional, Heidi is poised to take on multifaceted roles within our organization, including administrator, class coordinator, and instructor. Her deep understanding of academic processes, coupled with her passion for fostering educational environments conducive to growth and success, makes her an invaluable asset.
Heidi's vision extends beyond mere execution; she strives to streamline processes and enhance communication channels to ensure prompt and efficient responses to the needs of both instructors and students. With her at the helm, we are confident in our ability to provide a supportive and enriching educational experience.
Jenny Casad

Jenny brings a passion for education and hands-on experience to our team as an instructor in training. With a strong background in training and a deep interest in wilderness first aid, she is dedicated to equipping others with the lifesaving skills they need in both everyday and outdoor emergency situations.
An avid adventurer, Jenny spends her free time exploring the outdoors on her motorcycle, capturing stunning landscapes through photography, hiking, and seeking out rare, beautiful places off the beaten path. Her love for adventure, combined with her commitment to high-quality instruction, makes her a valuable asset to our organization. We are excited to have her as part of the team and look forward to her contributions in providing top-tier training.
Kaden Fife

Kaden embarked on his journey as a Firefighter EMT in 2020, initially as a volunteer, and has steadily progressed to secure a full-time position. Recently, his dedication and proficiency led to a well-deserved promotion to the role of Engineer within Mesa County.
In April 2023, driven by a desire to extend his contribution to the community, Kaden made the decision to become a CPR instructor. His extensive knowledge, unwavering passion, infectious sense of humor, and approachable personality promise to make your learning experience both educational and enjoyable.
